PROPERTIES OF MATERIALS
PVC: Polyvinyl Chloride Resins have exceptional resistance to such chemicals as: acids, alkalis, and alcohols.  They are non-oxidizing, self-extinguishing, and insoluble in most chemicals.
-
Nylon: Fasteners are precision molded or machined of Nylon 6/6 - a highly crystalline, light-weight, high melting thermoplastic resin.  The mechanical advantages include toughness, good thermal properties, abrasion, friction and chemical resistance.  These fasteners will permit substantial reduction in fastener inventories by cutting assembly time and eliminating additional locking, insulating, and sealing devices.
-
Delrin: Outstanding for its stiffness, tensile strength, and creep resistance under a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions.
-
Polypropylene: Mechanical has a higher tensile strength than high density polyethylenes, good impact strength and remarkable high compressive strength.  Good dimensional stability and surface hardness, excellent abrasion resistance.  Polypropylene has high heat resistance and even at high frequencies, exhibits excellent dielectric properties easily machined at relatively high speeds on conventional machine tools.
-
Kynar: Possesses excellent corrosion and chemical resistance, is a tough and durable material and is easily fabricated into many finished parts required by the chemical industry.
-
Teflon: Has excellent highly stable electrical properties which remain constant over a wide range of temperatures and frequencies.  These properties are realized to their fullest in products made from virgin.  Teflon surface resistance is excellent.  It is capable of continuous service at 500oF and its electrical and mechanical properties are well maintained at this temperature.
-
Lexan: High impact strength, excellent dimensional stability, superior heat resistance, and good electrical properties.
-
CPVC: Extends the toughness and other excellent properties inherent with PVC to a wider range of products and applications.  Because CPVC retains physical properties at temperatures well above the capacities of many thermoplastics and has US-94 V-O capacity in thin sections, its use has been specified for a variety of extruded products.  The design flexibility of CVPC and its mechanical stability across a wide temperature range (heat distortion temperature from 184o to 205oF) make it a proven alternative to aluminum extrusions.
-
KEL-F: This improved fluro-chemical material is helping old designs work better, is helping to achieve new equipment designs with the vital stamina needed to withstand today's difficult operating environments.  Kel-F provides exceptional uniformity of molecular weight, high ZST rating as well as consistently high purity.  Kel-F has temperatures ranging up to 400oF, stays tough, flexible at temperatures where most materials shatter.
In addition, new materials are being developed every day, and existing materials are constantly being improved for even better performance.  For quality fasteners of the best material for your specific application, don't hesitate to contact us.
